Pioneer: George Tidball

George Tidball

Born in Alberta and schooled all the way to an MBA at Harvard, George Tidball brought McDonald's to Canada in the Sixties. In June, 1971, probably looking for a more adult kind of concept, George opened the first Keg n' Cleaver restaurant in North Vancouver. The brand has grown to become Canada's premier steakhouse, with eighty-plus locations and more than 6,000 employees, a concept that has been a destination for great food and fun for more than thirty years. At one time or another, everyone in the food-service industry has worked at a Keg. Be a leader rather than an administrator, says George. It's good advice. Ladies and gentlemen, the founder of Keg Restaurants, George Tidball.
