What a contribution to the wine industry in British Columbia this man has made! And how about that Black Sage 01 Meritage? Founding chair of the BC Wine Information Centre, founder and president of Sumac Ridge and three other wineries, founding president of the Okanagan Wine Festival, instrumental in founding VQA Canada, an organization that spearheaded development of national wine standards for Canadian vintners. In 2001, presented with an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degrees from the Okanagan University College for his contributions to the province's and country's wine industry. He's taught us all how to drink better, enjoy our own wine more, make us proud of what we grow and produce.
