Pioneer: Mike McLaughlin

At the beginning of the Sixties, Mike McLaughlin was a national sales rep for BC Packers, and at the end of the Sixties through the early part of the Seventies, he was builder, owner and manager of the Cannery, a uniquely-positioned restaurant that still graces our east-side waterfront. From the Cannery, Mike moved to the Island's Comox Valley to build, own and manage the Old House in Courtenay, then to run his own consulting company. His contributions to community endeavours over the years have been substantial and widely recognized.
