News & Press ReleasesSelection of 2009 Nominees to the BC Restaurant Hall of FameNovember 20, 2008 (Vancouver, BC) — Congratulations to the 2009 Nominees to the BC Restaurant Hall of Fame. The selection committee, a group of 11 respected hospitality industry people, have selected twenty people in each category from the hundreds of nominations put forward. What happens next? The Nominations are sent to a group of 80 industry members, who vote electronically, anonymously and confidentially. The Voting Committee are requested to select five individuals in each category, 1 to 5, with first place awarded five points and fifth place awarded 1 point. On December 15, the points are tallied, creating the top five semi finalists for Induction into the 2009 BC Restaurant Hall of Fame. The semi finalists will be contacted by the Chair of the Nominating Committee, Mr. Bing Smith. The Awards Ceremony for the 5th Annual BC Restaurant Hall of Fame will be held March 30, 2009, at the new Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre. VCEC West, the presenting sponsor of the BC Restaurant Hall of Fame Gala, offers a sneak preview to the 800 guests attending this year’s black tie gala; a first look, a soft opening.
